The present invention provides a method of auditing a trunk line/subscriber line condition periodically to monitor lines that are not used in actual processings of calls and convert the state of those lines into idle one, thus removing discord of the trunk line/subscriber line in condition, and performing management of lines efficiently. The inventive method includes the steps of: determining if a child process exists once receiving that an audit timer for trunk line audition is completed; repeating the first step if the audit about all the trunk lines is not performed, and repeating the standby step of the timer completion if the audit about all the trunk lines is performed; and performing the second step if the trunk line is in an idle state, and converting the trunk line's state into an idle one and performing the second step if the junction line is in an idle state.
