<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widely fit a supporting tool to be fitted as a support when calking a holding member to the holding member in a reclining device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The holding member 70 which prevents a ratchet 10 and a guide 20 of the reclining device 4 (a coupling device of a vehicle seat) from coming off in an axial direction, while a first seat surface portion is connected integrally to a ratchet 10 by calking a bent surface part 73 to the outer panel surface of a support part 15 by bending thereof radially inward while a first seat surface part 71 and a second seat surface part 72 having surfaces in the axial direction respectively abut on the outer panel surface of the guide 20 and the inner panel surface of the support part 15 of the ratchet 10. This calking processing is performed by making a support tool abut on the back surface of the second seat surface part 72 by surfaces. Radial movement of the guide 20 can be regulated by a connecting surface part 74 of the holding member 70, so that the diameter of the guide 20 is reduced to expand the radial diameter of the second seat surface part 72 on which the support tool abuts by the surfaces.
