<p>An image processing device includes an image reading means for reading a medical image, an anisotropic region setting means for setting anisotropic regions continuous with a pixel of interest contained in the medial image with the pixel of interest centered, a statistical value calculating means for calculating a statistical value of the pixel values of the pixels constituting each anisotropic region, a filter setting means for determining the anisotropic region, out of the anisotropic regions, for which the statistical value is the minimum one and setting an anisotropic shape filter structured in the same direction as that of the determined anisotropic region or for determining the anisotropic region, out of the anisotropic regions, for which the statistical value is the maximum one and setting an anisotropic shape filter structured in the direction defined by rotating the determined anisotropic region around the pixel of interest by 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise, and a filtering means for subjecting the pixel of interest to median filtering or smoothing filtering by using the anisotropic shape filter.</p> |
