PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress excessive increase in density of a layout within a pixel to make finer pixels, thus making a finer display device.

SOLUTION: The shortage of capacity of an organic EL element 21 is compensated by using the wiring capacity of a signal line 33 of an adjoining pixel as an auxiliary capacity of the organic EL element instead of adding an auxiliary capacity into the pixel 20. Since the wiring capacity value of the signal line 33 is larger than the auxiliary capacity value in the pixel, the write-in large gain in writing in the signal voltage Vsig of an image signal can be large. As it is not necessary to provide the auxiliary capacity into the pixel, the excessive density increase of the layout in the pixel can be suppressed.
