PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method for anchoring a fastening element to a fundamental structure with a hardenable multi-component material without preliminary removing drill wastes from a drill hole. SOLUTION: In the setting method for anchoring the fastening element 11 having an outer diameter A and a mixing section 13 in the fundamental structure U with the hardenable multi-component material 31, the method includes the steps of drilling a drill hole 22 in the fundamental structure U with a drill 36 until a drill hole depth T, which is at least by 5% greater than an anchoring length L, is reached, introducing the hardenable multi-component material 31 in the uncleaned drill hole 22 with a squeezing device, inserting the fastening element 11 ahead of the mixing section 13 in the drill hole 22, and mechanically screwing the fastening element 11 with a rotary driving device, with mixing of the hardenable multi-component material 31 with drill wastes 23 remaining in the drill hole, until the necessary anchoring length L is reached.
