<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide scanning line conversion, wherein video deterioration caused by the influence of encoding is reduced, when playing back an encoded video stream. <P>SOLUTION: A video scan conversion device processes a video stream containing a first encoding unit which is obtained, by encoding a set of fields N1 and N2, based on a first frame of a film video image, and a second encoding unit which is obtained by encoding a set of a field N3, based on the first frame and a field M1 based on a second frame different from the first frame. The device includes: a decode circuit which receives a video stream, decodes the first and second encoding units and sequentially outputs data of the fields N1, N2, N3 and M1; and a scan conversion circuit 4 which produces a frame from two fields outputted by the decode circuit. When a frame corresponding to the field N3 is output, the scan conversion circuit 4 produces the frame, not by using the data of the field N3, but by using the fields N1 and N2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
