<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coat carrier and a two-component developer containing the carrier, preventing a color image from being unclear when used with color toner, and having excellent resistance to oxidizing gas generated from a charger or the like so that chargeability is stable over a long period of time even in an environment where it is in contact with the oxidizing gas, and an image forming apparatus, which can stably form an image having a fixed image density by forming the image with the above two-component developer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coat carrier 100 has a coat layer 102 formed of resin on the surface of a core particle 101, and the coat layer 102 contains platinum nano particulates. The platinum nano particulate is preferably contained at a weight ratio ranging from 1-3 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the resin. A developing tank of a developing device of the image forming apparatus is filled with a developer containing this type of coat carrier 100 to thereby form an image.
