MEA MEMBER AND POLYMER ELECTROLYTE FUEL CELL

In an MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly) member having an MEA and a frame, and a polymer electrolyte fuel cell including the MEA member; the MEA is configured to be easily separable from the frame without using a special tool. An MEA member (7) includes an MEA (5) having a polymer electrolyte membrane (2) and a pair of electrodes (3), (4) disposed on respective main sides of the polymer electrolyte membrane (2), and a plate-like resin frame (6) that clamps and supports both sides of the periphery of the MEA (5) so that the MEA (5) is arranged inside the frame (6). The MEA member (7) further includes a separation part for separating the MEA (5) from the frame (6). The separation part is either a cutoff line (50) disposed in the frame (6), for dividing the frame (6) into two or more parts, the cutoff line (50) being in the form of a dashed line, or a partial clamping part (55) disposed in the inner circumferential part of the frame (6) configured to partially clamp the periphery of the MEA (5).
