PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an uplink synchronization loss between a base station and a mobile station when the mobile station performs an intermittent reception. SOLUTION: A synchronization control method in a communication system having a mobile station for performing intermittent reception and a base station includes: a step (S103) in which the base station creates a synchronization request upon arrival of data addressed to the mobile station (S101); a step (S103) in which the mobile station receives the synchronization request from the base station; a step (S105) in which the mobile station transmits feedback information in response to the synchronization request; a step (S105) in which the base station receives the feedback information; and a step (S107) in which the base station measures a signal propagation delay time from the timing at which it has received the feedback information.
