<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a walking aid device in common as a chair, which is provided with a sitting member 1 for a user P to sit on like straddling, a leg link 2 connected to the sitting member 1 and having a joint part 5 in the middle, and a drive source 9 for driving the joint part, and allows the leg link in the direction of pushing the sitting member upward by driving of the joint part by the drive source so that at least a part of the weight of the user is supported by the leg link via the sitting member. <P>SOLUTION: A support member 14 which can come into contact with a wall W is installed to the sitting member 1. When the support member 14 comes into contact with the wall W, the drive source 9 is controlled so as to strengthen the pushing-up force of the sitting member 1 according to the lowering amount of the sitting member 1, and the ratio of the change of the pushing-up force of the sitting member 1 to the lowering amount of the sitting member 1 is controlled to increase with time.
