<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone separator which can increase the compression effect of the object to be collected by rotating a compression member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is the cyclone separator where air is circulated along the almost cylindrical inner circumferential face of a collection vessel, and is thereafter exhausted through a filter means, thus the relatively large object to be collected comprised in the air is collected at the bottom of the collection vessel. In the cyclone separator comprising a compression member having a spiral curved face with the vertical central axis of the collection vessel as the center, and rotatable around the vertical central axis, the friction coefficient to the object to be collected at the inner bottom face and/or the inner circumferential face in the collection vessel is set so as to be higher than the friction coefficient to the object to be collected at the lower face in the compression member.
