<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive unit for preventing a disk from being popped out by an eject mechanism during disk unloading. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The disk drive unit 10 is provided with an external frame 100, a turntable 104, a main arm 400 and a disk pop-out prevention mechanism 60. The main arm 400 guides an optical disk 102 in an unloading direction from the upper part of the turntable 104 while moving along the outer circumferential part of the optical disk 102. The disk pop-out prevention mechanism 60 applies braking force for restricting the movement of the optical disk 102 in the surface direction of the optical disk 102 during loading/unloading the optical disk 102.
