PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an water-based coating composition which requires neither preliminary metering nor sufficient mixing upon coating unlike two-component curable coatings, exerts workmanship with excellent design as it has feeling of convexo-concave after coating, has good weatherability and resistance to contamination, and causes no cracks on the coating film surface formed with convexo-concave even when coating is performed at low temperatures. SOLUTION: The water-based coating composition comprises an acrylic resin emulsion with a glass transition temperature of 40°C or higher and 60°C or lower, an aggregate having a hydroxy group on the surface, a trialkoxysilane having a vinylic group, a pigment, a filling, a bodying agent, and an auxiliary for film formation.
