<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper core for an automobile in which generation of burrs can be suppressed to such a degree as not to impair the fitting even when burrs are generated, or deburring can be easily executed, and to provide a method of manufacturing the bumper core applicable for various kinds of designs. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the bumper core for automobile comprising an energy absorption unit in which synthetic resin foam particles are filled in each partitioned cavity, the foam particles are integrally heat-bonded to each other after retracting the partition from the inside of each cavity, and a high energy absorption area and a low energy absorption area are integrally formed, and a molded part formed on either or each of upper and lower parts of the energy absorption unit, the partition is formed in the cavity in an advancing/retracting manner via an insertion hole formed in a mold on a vehicle body side of the bumper core, and provided at the position corresponding to a boundary part between the high energy absorption area and the low energy absorption area of the bumper core, and the position corresponding to a boundary part between the high energy absorption area and/or the low energy absorption area and the molded part.
