<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a liquid discharge apparatus to recover cleaning capability without lowering cleaning capability on the way, to obtain a sufficient cleaning effect even if it is a line system and to avoid being large in size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid discharge apparatus includes: an endless cleaning belt 41 for cleaning an ink discharge face 21; an installation roller 42 for installing the cleaning belt 41 in a circulable manner; a belt frame for supporting the installation roller 42 so that the width direction of the cleaning belt 41 may have an angle with respect to the arrangement direction of nozzles 32 and the cleaning belt 41 located on the periphery of the installation roller 42 can come into contact with the ink ejection face 21; a belt moving motor for moving the belt frame in the arrangement direction of the nozzles 32; and a belt rotating motor for rotatively driving the installation roller 42.
