<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel rod inspection apparatus capable of efficiently identifying a pressing spring loaded inside a fuel rod without relying on a large-scale inspection apparatus using X rays. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fuel rod inspection apparatus 1 includes: a conveyance means 2 for moving a fuel rod W; a speed detection means 4; a first through-coil 11 through which the fuel rod W can pass; a first vortex flow measurement device 12 connected to the first through-coil 11; a first calculation means for calculating the number of turns of the pressing spring on the basis of the variation of an impedance signal of the first through-coil 11; a second through-coil 21; a second vortex flow measurement device 22; and a second calculation means.
