The present invention relates to a method for checking the integrity of geological storage containing CO2, wherein the following stages are carried out: CO2 is injected into a geological formation (1) closed by a caprock (4) that prevents the CO2 from resurfacing; and a reducing agent solution is injected, reducing CO2 mobility in the vicinity (A) of a vulnerable or endangered area of the covering where CO2 has escaped or may escape.
