<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent skip and repeat of videos by instantaneously performing synchronization by detecting a phase difference between a display synchronous signal and an input synchronous signal and processing the display synchronous signal considering the phase difference. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A synchronous signal control circuit 1 has a phase detecting section 12 for detecting the phase difference between the display synchronous signal and the input synchronous signal; adding circuits 24 and 25 for adding a set value for setting a synchronization compensation period to the detected phase difference; and an adding circuit 31 for correcting the phase of the input synchronous signal based on the output signals of the adding circuits 24 and 25. Further, the synchronous signal control circuit 1 has a gate signal generating section 29 for generating a gate signal indicating the synchronization compensation period while using the display synchronous signal as a reference; a synchronization propriety decision section 15 for detecting whether the input synchronous signal exists in the synchronization compensation period, and decision whether synchronization is possible; and a selecting section 16 for switching the signal to the corrected input synchronous signal based on a result of decision of the synchronization propriety decision section 15.
