Subject of this invention is a piston with support insert for machines equipped with a piston (1) that moves in a cylinder, where the piston (1) includes a support insert (4) that is connected to the crank by a pin and can move in the internal duct of the piston (1) in cross direction to longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The piston according to the invention is characterised in that the support insert (4) is equipped with insert components (5) at least on the edges that contact with the walls of the internal transversal duct formed for the piston (1).
