VIRTUAL MOUSE DEVICE CONTROLLED BASED ON VARIATION OF HAND POSTURE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A virtual mouse device controlled based on a variation of hand posture and an operating method thereof are provided to make a natural and intrinsic virtual mount interface using a variation of one hand posture without a separate mouse device. CONSTITUTION: A gesture information storing unit(250) defines gesture information per a function of a virtual mouse and stores it. A hand region detecting unit(230) detects a hand region from an image inputted from a video camera. A gesture recognizing unit(240) detects a posture variation and the number of fingers of the hands from the detected hand region. The gesture recognizing unit recognizes gesture. A gesture information searching unit(260) searches gesture information corresponding to the recognized gesture from a gesture information storage unit. A virtual mouse operating unit(270) operates the virtual mouse based on the searched gesture information.
