THE DUAL POLARIZATION STRUCTURE OF THE RADIATING ELEMENT USING THE OPEN ENDED RIDGE WAVEGUIDE

PURPOSE: A radiator for dual polarization is provided to lower a cutoff frequency of a rectangular waveguide using an open-ended ridge waveguide. CONSTITUTION: A radiator for dual polarization includes a ridge waveguide(210) and a substrate(250). The ridge waveguide includes a first input port, a second input port, and ridges. The ridges are positioned in the middle part of the upper conductive surface and the lower conductive surface. The signal inputted to the first input port is radiated to a free space through a short microstrip line as a vertical polarization wave. The signal inputted to the second input port is radiated to the free space through a long microstrip line as a horizontal polarization wave. The substrate is inserted into the inside of the ridge waveguide. One dipole antenna is formed in the substrate. The length of the ridge waveguide is shorter than the length of the substrate.
