<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device capable of reducing an amount of N<SB>2</SB>O in exhaust gas irrespective of the temperature of the exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas discharged from a combustion chamber 3 of an engine 2 flows through an exhaust path 21 of an exhaust pipe 20. A NOx reduction catalyst 30 for reducing NOx in the exhaust gas and a corona discharge device 40 are arranged in the exhaust path 21. The corona discharge device is disposed on the downstream side of the NOx reduction catalyst 30 along the flow of the exhaust gas and can oxidize N<SB>2</SB>O in the exhaust gas irrespective of the temperature of the exhaust gas. Thus, in the case that N<SB>2</SB>O is generated in the exhaust gas when reducing NOx by the NOx reduction catalyst 30, it is possible to oxidize N<SB>2</SB>O and change it into NO or NO<SB>2</SB>by the corona discharge device 40 arranged on the downstream side of the NOx reduction catalyst 30. Therefore, the amount of N<SB>2</SB>O in the exhaust gas can be reduced irrespective of the temperature of the exhaust gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
