PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target suction device and a recording device can surely apply suction to a conveyed target during conveyance while reducing an installation number of suction means. SOLUTION: The target suction device is equipped with a plurality of negative pressure chambers 33a communicating with suction holes in each suction hole group when the plurality of suction holes 30 of a second support 27 are sectioned into a plurality of suction hole groups and an induced air blower 37 capable of generating negative pressure in the respective negative chambers 33a via communication members 35 individually extended from the plurality of negative chambers 33a, wherein the communication members 35, when the suction holes 30 of the suction hole groups communicating with partial negative chambers 33a among the plurality of negative pressure chambers 33a are closed, set a necessary static pressure for applying necessary suction to give necessary suction for adsorbing a paper 12 via the suction hole groups communicating with negative pressure chambers 33a and a total pressure loss of air at the communication members 35 involved with driving of the induced air blower 37 to generate a necessary air volume corresponding to a necessary static pressure predetermined by a static pressure-air volume curve of the induced air blower 37.
