METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING BASKET-SHAPED ROTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a basket-shaped rotor that facilitates pressure application to a short circuit ring that is formed on both axial end faces of a rotor core when die-cast molding with a melted metal is carried out. SOLUTION: A die 9 housing the rotor core 2 has short circuit ring forming cavities 13a and 14a that are formed closer to axial both end faces of the rotor core 2. When die-cast molding with a melted aluminum 24 is carried out, the melted aluminum 24 filled into one cavity 13a is pressurized in a state of semi-solidification with a moving gate plate 16 at a gate portion 16a, while the melted aluminum 24 filled into the other cavity 14a is pressurized in a state of semi-solidification with a pressurizing element 19.
