<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitator that allows the adjustment of the individual rotation speeds of its agitation blades and shear blades in spite of its low-cost and simple structure and can be used for agitating materials of various kinds and properties or can be used in a wide range of applications. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A driving shaft 6 of a driving motor 5 disposed above an agitation tank 3 with a small and a large diameter coaxial fixed gears 7a, 7b loosely fitted to the driving shaft 6 in two steps, is vertically hung on the center of the agitation tank 3 and is attached to the agitation tank 3. A support member 8 is attached to the lower end of the driving shaft 6. A plurality of driven shafts 10a, 10b each equipped with agitation blades 9a and shear blades 9b on their bottoms are rotatably and pivotally supported by the support member 8 on its edge, while driven gears 11a, 11b each attached to the upper end of the driven shafts 10a, 10b respectively are individually made to engage with either of the fixed gears 7a, 7b so that each of the driven shafts 10a, 10b pivotally supported by the support member 8 can revolve around the driving shaft 6 while rotating at an individually intended rotation speed in accordance with the rotation of the driving shaft 6.
