The slit lamp of the invention solves a problem of generating a slit of an optional shape, which allows for a precise ophthalmological examination of eyes. A slit lamp with an optoelectronic slit for ophthalmological examinations of eyes is characterised in that a translucent LCD or a reflective digital mirror DMD or a reflective display LCOS is used as an optoelectronic display (33) for generating an electronic slit (33a), said display being controlled together with other functional modules of said slit lamp via microprocessor module, that by mechanical rotation of Dove or a similar prism (29) an image (33b) of said slit (33a) is rotated, which image (33b) is projected to an eye (11 ) by the optical system consisting of a lens (28), a prism (29), another lens (30) and a mirror (31).
