<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform video and audio synchronization processing at a receiving side when transmitting an audio signal synchronously to a high-definition image signal. <P>SOLUTION: When transmitting an input image signal, in which the number of pixels in one frame exceeds the number of pixels specified in the HD-SDI format, and an audio signal which is inputted synchronously to the input image signal, first, second, third and fourth sub images obtained by mapping a pixel sample and the audio signal are divided into a transmission channel of a first link and a transmission channel of a second link for each sub image, respectively, thereby producing eight channels. Then, pixel samples mapped on video data regions of eight channels are multiplexed on a transmission stream in a video data region, only the channel, in which the audio signal is mapped, is extracted and multiplexed on a transmission stream in a horizontal auxiliary data space, and the transmission stream is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
