<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the presence of failure regarding a light source, even in the light source which is set not to have light incident on a photodetection part which outputs a horizontal synchronous signal, as to an exposure part of an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming device equipped with an image forming mechanism is provided with a toner density detecting sensor 23 and a toner density detecting part 101 for detecting the density of a toner image transferred onto an intermediate transfer body; a density correction part 103 for carrying out toner density correction processing for forming the toner image, when a density value detected by the density detecting part does not satisfy predetermined conditions; a toner residual amount detecting sensor 150 for detecting the toner residual amount in a toner accumulation part; and a laser failure determining part 102 for determining the failure of the exposure part, when the density value detected by the toner density detecting part 101 does not satisfy the predetermined condition, after the density correction processing by the density correction part 103 is finished and when the toner residual amount detected by the toner residual amount detecting sensor 150 is larger than a predetermined residual amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
