<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that reduces the data size of a composite file without influencing output when merging a plurality of files containing objects to generate a composite file. <P>SOLUTION: In merging a plurality of files, the image processing apparatus determines whether objects (images and others) contained in the plurality of files are hidden behind other objects.
