<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of lowering power consumption in each pixel based on an image signal and achieving higher image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes an image display part having a plurality of pixels and displaying an image on a display screen, a peak detection part detecting a maximum value of luminance within a predetermined period based on the image signal, a regulation value setting part setting a first regulation value defining a first voltage based on a detection result and setting a second regulation value based on the first regulation value and a variation value from the first regulation value, a first voltage supply part supplying a first voltage matching the first regulation value to pixels, a gain regulation part regulating a gain of the image signal based on the second regulation value, and a second voltage supply part supplying a second voltage to the pixel based on the regulated image signal. Each of the pixels is provided with a light emission element and a transistor applying light emission current in an amount meeting the second voltage based on the second voltage applied to a control terminal and the first voltage applied to a first terminal or a second terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
