PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus without the risk of erroneously attaching and detaching a developer storage member which is not in a replacement position when an image forming unit is removed and to provide the developer storage member used for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a rotary developing device to and from which the developer storage member 45 can be attached and detached; the image forming unit 21 which is arranged to face at least a part of the rotary developing device and configured to be attachable and detachable to and from an image forming apparatus body; and a cover by which the developer storage member 45 can be attached and detached in the replacement position of the developer storage member 45, in such a state that the image forming unit 21 is attached. It is constituted so that a handle provided in the developer storage member 45 is operated to take out the developer storage member 45 in a direction orthogonal to the rotating shaft of the rotary developing device. It is constituted so that the handle which is the handle of the developer storage member 45 which is not in the replacement position and exposed to space where the image forming unit 21 is taken out, in such a state that the image forming unit 21 is taken out can not be operated.
