PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device applied to a liquid crystal projector capable of emitting light without generating fluctuated light while enhancing power efficiency and luminance of a lamp. SOLUTION: The light-emitting control method for a light source device having a lamp section where an enclosing gas which emits light by being ionized or excited with supply of a microwave is enclosed, includes: a step of outputting, from a microwave power source of the light source device, a microwave modulated with a predetermined designated frequency, having a pulse wave form, wherein an output value is increased from a predetermined initial value at a slope for keeping the electron temperature of plasma of the enclosed gas to be able to maintain an exciting state of the plasma at a designated level or higher by compensating reduction of the electron temperature accompanying the stop of microwave supply to the enclosed gas, and falls to the initial value at each fixed period; and a step of transmitting the microwave from the microwave power source to the lamp section through a waveguide.
