<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently house or extract an apparatus, in relation to a housing for mounting an apparatus such as an information communication apparatus, and a lifting mechanism used for mounting it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This lifting mechanism 20 used for vertically moving an apparatus 1 to be mounted on a rack 10 is provided with: a mounting part 40 vertically movable along column supports 13 and 14 constituting the rack 10; and conston springs 25-28 arranged above a lifting range L of the mounting part 40 of the column supports 13 and 14, and connected to the mounting part 40 to assist the lifting operation of the mounting part 40.
