PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Internet telephone system without incurring long distance telephone charges regardless of the distance. SOLUTION: The Internet telephone system is constituted by two non-Internet capable regular devices. Between the devices, a packet of Internet-formatted data which is connected to the Internet 16, either in a duplex or simplex mode and including digitized, compressed and encrypted conversion is transmitted. No special telephone is required, nor computer runs special software. The apparatus which makes this system achievable is a system of Internet access nodes 32, 34 called as voice engines.
