Door lock for motor vehicles

The door lock comprises a friction brake (14) for continuous reduction of friction force which is formed on the fork latch (5) during its movement out of the lock position. The door lock further comprises a lock part (7) for actuating the control lever which adjusts the friction forces of the friction brake. The control lever is made in one-piece with a brake lever (17) which holds the brake block (18). The control lever and the brake lever are swivelably supported about a common axle (15).
