When light being measured (L) and sampling pulse light (LSP) are each split into M beams, and a time delay of 0, T, 2T, , (M-1)T is given to each of the M-split sampling pulse light beams, the M-split light beams being measured are each multiplexed with M 90º-hybrid light beams, M field amplitudes per time T are found for the light beam being measured, based on M sets of output currents resulting from a balanced light receiver receiving output light from each of the 90º-hybrid light beams, and then the amplitudes of the individual wavelength light signals contained in the light beam being measured are calculated by Fourier transformation of the field amplitudes. Pulsed light with a spectral width that covers the full frequency bandwidth of the light being measured is used as the sampling pulse light. Where the full frequency bandwidth of the light being measured is ?ftotal, and the frequency interval of the light signals contained in the light being measured is ?f, T=1/?ftotal and 1/(MT)= ?f.
|
