Provided is a matrix converter device with which the capacitor voltage of a filter provided on the input side approximates a sinusoidal wave and with which the peak value is also reduced, in which an input filter using a capacitor with a low breakdown voltage can be used, and that can significantly alleviate effects on peripheral devices. It is equipped with a pulse width modulation part (10) that uses the capacitor terminal voltage value and the input voltage value of the filter provided on the input side, and the output current value of the matrix converter to generate a PWM pulsed command signal.
