System for improving or restoring sight of eye with damaged front section

The system for improving sight of an eye with a damaged front section esp. a damaged cornea and intact retina, uses a combination of an optical unit (1), which produces an image at a sec. light source (4) and an optical imaging unit (5), which images the image produced at the secondary light source of the retina. The optical unit (1) positionable at the front of the eye is arranged in set of spectacles. The optical imaging unit (5) is implantable in the eye. The optical imaging unit which produces the image at the secondary light source, images the image produced in a region of the fovea.
