<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smart key system capable of increasing the probability of success of receiving the signals transmitted from a vehicle controller by a mobile device. <P>SOLUTION: In this smart key system, start signals are transmitted from the vehicle controller 2, and an effective antenna is specified according to the history of success or failure of receiving the start signals by the mobile device 1 through a plurality of receiving antennas 111-113. Specifically, even if the mobile device fails to receive the start signals through the effective antenna, the effective antenna is not changed when the probability of success or failure of receipt through the effective antenna is expected to be low according to the history of success or failure of receiving the start signals.
