<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the same object needs to be photographed twice to expand a dynamic range and that consequently a time which is twice as long as that of normal photography is required. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic camera includes an imaging unit which picks up an object image and generates image data, a release button for instructing imaging, a position detection unit which detects the position of a first area when a live view image picked up by the imaging unit includes the first area exceeding the dynamic range of the imaging unit, an exposure amount setting unit which determines a first exposure amount suitable for imaging the first area and a second exposure amount suitable for imaging a second area other than the first area, a control unit which picks up a first image with the first exposure amount and a second image with the second exposure amount when the release button is pressed, and reads part of at lest the second image out of the imaging unit to read it, and an image processing unit which composites the first image and the second image that the control unit reads out of the imaging unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
