摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar lightwave circuit for achieving connection in a short adjustment time using an array waveguide diffraction grating optical multiplexer circuit in order to multiplex optical signals of each wavelength. SOLUTION: The planar lightwave circuit comprises: the array waveguide diffraction grating optical multiplexer circuit to which at least one input channel waveguide, an input side slab waveguide, an array waveguide composed of a plurality of channel waveguides having a predetermined waveguide length difference, an output side slab waveguide, and at least one output side channel waveguides, are sequentially connected on a waveguide substrate; a connecting waveguide having at least one input/output terminals on the end of the waveguide substrate; and an aligning waveguide whose output terminal is formed on the same terminal of the waveguide substrate as the input/output terminal of the connecting waveguide. The aligning waveguide is optically connected to the input channel waveguide side of the input side slab waveguide of the array waveguide side of the output side slab waveguide.
