PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing inner and outer rings of a rolling bearing capable of executing the rolling formation with a large diameter widening ratio without causing any crack in a ring-shaped material, and consistently forming the inner and outer rings for the rolling bearing of high accuracy with excellent yield. SOLUTION: An inner ring 10 is formed by executing the rolling formation of a raceway groove 11 in a first ring part 4 separated via a separation process from a formed product 3 which is formed by connecting the first ring part 4 of the large diameter to a second ring part 5 of the small diameter. The second ring part 5 separated via the separation process and the punching process is forged in the axial direction by the swaging process, and further formed in a predetermined shape having a raceway groove 21 after diametrical expansion by the subsequent rolling formation.
