PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a sheet material in such a way that the cut sheet material is not in a deficient shape even if the sheet material has a bend in the lateral direction. SOLUTION: Even if the squareness of the angle A0 between an end surface and a side surface is impaired by a bend in the lateral direction of a coil material C as shown in Fig.(a), the coil material C is fed by a feed quantity L2 with the side surface guided by an upstream side guide 70 orthogonally crossing the feeding direction of the coil material C, and the end is cut off (refer to Fig.(b)), and therefore, the end surface after cut-off is parallel to a lower blade 62b and the squareness of the angle A1 with respect to the side surface is not impaired. Next, the coil material C is fed and cut by a prescribed length of feeding while being reduced in the deviation of the end surface of the coil material C relative to a cutting blade 62 while the same side surface as the cut-off surface is guided by a downstream side guide 80 orthogonally crossing the feeding direction. As a result, the sheet material can be cut in such a way that the cut sheet material is not in a deficient shape even if the sheet material has the bend in the lateral direction.
