<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual transmission securely preventing gear squeak during gear shift operation to a reverse stage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: While select operation of a shift select shaft 20 is performed during gear shift operation to a reverse stage in a select sliding manner, the shift select shaft 20 is rotated around the axial line. Receiving the rotating force, a projecting part 63 of the shift select shaft 20 presses a second arm part 84 of a rotating lever 81. Due to the press force, the second arm part 84 is rotated around a support shaft 73, and a first arm part 83 follows the rotating motion of the second arm part 84 and is rotated around the support shaft 73. Due to the rotation of the first arm part 83, the rotating lever 81 applies axial force to a fork shaft 53. By moving the fork shaft 53 axially, a synchronous mesh mechanism is operated during the select operation of the shift select shaft 20. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
