PURPOSE: A method for preparing a transition metal oxide of meso-structure by the electrochemical self-assembly is provided to control the meso-structure and reaction by the applied potential. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a transition metal oxide of meso-structure comprises the steps of preparing an electrolyte solution containing a structure-directing agent and a transition metal ion; applying potential to the electrolyte solution to induce the electrochemical self-assembly, thereby preparing the composite of a structure-directing agent and a transition metal ion; and removing the structure-directing agent from the composite. The structure-directing agent is a surfactant.
