<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a tidal power generator capable of reliably generating a fixed amount of electric energy per day, focusing on tidal power which fluctuates a water level at a constant frequency without being affected by meteorological conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The tidal power generator is provided with a tank 1 disposed between a sea level M at high tide and a sea level K at low tide to be filled inside alternately with the atmosphere and seawater, an opening portion formed at the lowest part of the tank 1 to pass seawater through, a turbogenerator 4 disposed above the tank 1 to be driven by compressed air, a pipe 5 with one end connected to the highest part of the tank 1 and the other end connected to the turbogenerator 4, and a motor-operated valve 7 which is disposed at an end portion or in the middle of the pipe 5 and is closed usually and opened when the tide level rises with air retained in the tank 1.
