<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine misfire of one cylinder with one cylinder of a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine continuously misfiring even if resonance caused by torsion of a torsion element occurs, and to suppress erroneous specifying a non-misfiring cylinder as a misfiring cylinder when the misfire of the one cylinder is determined. <P>SOLUTION: In this device for determining misfire, when the misfire of the one cylinder is determined, if the operation point of the engine does not belong to a resonance area on a rear stage including a damper (S150), the misfiring cylinder is specified by a crank angle CA when determining the misfire of the one cylinder and saved, and also a one cylinder misfire determination flag F is set to a value 1 (S160 to S180).
