<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature detection element and a temperature sensor which dispense with welding of an electrode extracting an output from a thermistor and have improved strength of the sensor per se. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The temperature detection element 1 includes a columnar thermistor 2, two insulated columns 4a, 4b which have an identical columnar cross section to the columnar thermistor and are disposed before and after the columnar thermistor axially and concentrically therewith, and an insulating sheet 10 wrapped around the outer circumference of the columnar thermistor and the insulated columns and comprising a pair of lead portions 21, 22 on a face opposed to the columnar thermistor, each of the pair of lead portions being partly in contact with the columnar thermistor.
