PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive motor unit for a vehicle, which is enhanced in mountability on a vehicle and is secured of reliability of a motor. SOLUTION: A breather passage 35 for allowing a motor housing 11, a mission housing 12 and a sensor housing 13 to be communicated with each other is formed in the outer wall parts 31, 32, 33 of the housings 11, 12, 13. A first communication passage 41 for communicating the breather passage 35 with a motor chamber is formed at least either in the mission housing 12 or in the sensor housing 13, a second communication passage 42 for communicating the breather passage 35 with a sensor chamber is formed in the sensor housing 13, and a third communication passage 43 for communicating the motor chamber with the mission chamber is formed in the mission housing 12. A breather chamber 51 communicating with the breather passage 35 includes a breather pipe 39 communicating with outside, and communicates with the motor chamber, the sensor chamber and the mission chamber through the breather passage 35, the first communication passage 41, the second communication passage 42 and the third communication passage 43.
