Control of electric cooker heating system such as hot plates

The heating element (4) is coupled to a relay (3) and this is coupled to a control unit (5). The control unit is connected onto a data bus (9) that supports a timer (6), user input (7) and a hot plate temperature sensor (8) and each of these has an interface. The control unit can be a microprocessor based unit and the bus allows bidirectional exchanges of data. The system allows programmed timing coupled with accurate temperature control.
